Bsurfaces 1.5 for Blender

Today I stumbled upon a hot video on Vimeo, it was about Bsurfaces for Blender.
With this Blender Addon it is possible to make good use of freehand curves that you can turn into a surface with options for the divisions you want to have.

But see for yourself:

Bsurfaces will have a pay-per-copy period and then will be turned into GPL. You can donate or buy the addon here for $39.

Cooler Master HAF-X GPU Cooling...Fail...

Yesterday I wrote that I mount another fan to cool the GTX 590 down a bit. The cooler Master HAF X Case has got a lot of coolers already and provides an Air Duct specialy to add another Fan to the GPU.

The GTX 590 is just too big :), First I had to cut off some locking nibbles, then I had to cut out the opening for the Power supply a bit. With all the assembly done I tested the temperatures again. They did not change a lot, the GPU near the fan even got a bit hotter. All right I have an Airflow problem there. Now I try to cut off a "lot!" of the airduct for the next test. if this also fails I model a mount in Rhino and 3D-Print it, this would actually be a lot of fun and a feasible use of 3D printing.

Tech Porn (Dedicated to Christian ;)...The striped part has to come off.

Basler Zolli Gala Dinner 2010 Making Of

Here we go, let's get some content...This was a production I made with Konnex for the Zoo Basel, i modeled an elephant and a penguin and prepared 2D cutting data for the waterjet. Finaly the models got assembled. They are up to 2 meters long ;)

The workflow started with a low poly model I made out of a plane, then I added some Z-Brush, 3D-Coat magic for the sculpting, finaly I created a Grasshopper nodesystem in Rhino that helped me to make the slices and the 2D layout for cutting the parts out. Enjoy :)
